How hard is telemarketing, and how much do you make?
I have a interview tomorrow for a telemarketing job, but I was wondering if the job was easy? I mean, sitting on your bum for hours talking on the phone while getting paid seems to easy and I know there HAS to be a catch! Unless the outside of the box really does look the same on the inside. Also, when you first start off, how much do you make?

- Telemarketing is very hard, hard to make money because everyone hangs up on you. I should know, I hang up on everyone before they get 5 words out of their mouth.
- $7-10 plus commission depends on the company. Also, u have a probation time you might get so many people to buy into whatever u market and if u do not meet up to that. Also companies have the script you say on the computer. Personally talking on the phone for hours not for me and sometimes the enviornment. Good luck to u.
- Telemarketing is both easy and difficult (don't worry I'll explain). It is easy in that you have a script to read most times so you don't really have to think about what to say. The difficult part is that most times there is a base pay and a commission and that commission is usually tied to either an hourly or daily quota which is VERY HARD to get since most people (myself included) usually hang up on telemarketers before they have the chance to finish their first sentence. If you ready the newspaper you will always see postings for telemarketers and it's not because it's a booming field, it's because they have a VERY HIGH TURNOVER rate (read: lots of people are fired because they don't meet their quotas). If you happen to be luck and/or gifted and succeed in the field there can be some very good money in it. Best of Luck!!
