Easy Telemarketing

Automated Telemarketing Knowledge Base

automated telemarketing? I have been getting calls on my cell phone almost everyday from a company selling multiple things. Through research I've found out they are selling satallite tv, vehicle warrenty, and debt reduction. They call my cell using different numbers all the time and when I ask to be removed from the list (you can press 1 to get thru to a representative) they hang up on me. Also, I found out through research it's nothing but a scam. How do I get them to stop calling? Other people have complained about this and are even on the DO NOT CALL registry but still get called all the time.
What are the laws regarding the use of predictive, automated or computerized dialing (telemarketing) in Colo? Is it legal to have an inbound call center in Colorado that generates the calls from an autodialer? What if the autodialer is located in another state?
who do i report unwanted telemarketing calls to? i put my cell on that do not call registry, but im still getting a random 888 number calling me everyday. and i'm getting an 800 number calling my work phone numerous times a day. the 800 number is an obvious telemarketing call from its automated message.
How can I stop telemarketing calls on my cell phone? I keep getting calls from seemingly random area codes and numbers, with an automated voice telling me that "This is my second notice that the factory warranty on my vehicle is about to expire." This is all BS because that happened long ago. How can I stop them from calling, they call me about once a week, every week, and I am so angry.
Whose bright idea was it to start using automated Telemarketers? It was bad when a person called on the tele, trying to sell you something you didn't really need. But lately there are more and more calls from machines with pre-recorded messages of sales scams. So this is their idea of saving money? Fire the real people and use machines instead? I'm starting to not ever answer my land-line, I'm thinking of discontinuing my land-line service all together, and just using my cell, at least my cell company doesn't allow telemarketing on cell phones.
Telemarketing regulations in Canada? Does anyone know the regulations concerning telemarketing in Canada? I received an automated call this morning (at 9AM Saturday) from a home cleaning service waking me up after working until 3AM. I have checked the CMA website, Better Business Bureau, and Quebec government websites and here is what I understand. They are not supposed to call you before 9AM on weekdays, 10AM on weekends. However I think the rules apply to CMA members and they are voluntary - guidelines but not actual laws. I'd like to know if the automated dialing services are legal, and if anyone knows of more information on direct marketing and telemarketing rules in Canada. I put myself on the Do-Not-Call list last year and it did not help, even though it is supposed to reduce calls for 3 years. I just did it again today - suspect that is not really a helpful tool and we need actual legislation to enforce it.
How do I get a telemarketer to stop calling me? I have added my number to the Federal do not call list and I have even reported this telemarketer to the do not call list. When this telemarketing call comes in, its all automated and it does give me an option to be removed from their call list and I have even done that. I have even reported this company to the police..But they are still calling..How do I get them to quit?
Wachovia Bank/telemarketing Scandal? Help? I got a letter and a check in the mail for $258.90 from the United States Court Settlement Administrator. It appears to be a real check..no "NOT A CHECK" written on it anywhere. It requires positive ID to cash it says on the back. The letter explains that money was deducted from my account thru a telemarketing scandal. I vaguely remember speaking to the telemarketing company in question... the details are too long to list here so here is the website given with the letter http://restitutionpayment.com/ The letter also gave a phone number. It says "please call if you have questions about the legitimacy of this check" I called it and listened to the automated message it explained that these people were being brought to court and when/where it was happening I could go if I wanted. I do not have to call anyone..give any info to anyone....or do anything. it says "you should cash/deposit this check. the money is yours" It also gives me a form to refund any bank fees incurred...which I'm not going to bother with. On monday I'm going to bring it to my bank and verify it being a real check and all that.... I don't want to get excited ...as I'm having a really rough time with christmas and all....and this would be a real "christmas miracle" lol...so What do you think? Do you think its real? please go to the site....and read the details. again the link is : http://restitutionpayment.com/ btw it says it was in 2006 in march...I don't recall the money being taken out. BUT it was right around the time I received my income tax check..and was making alot of purchases with my debit card...so thats why I might not have noticed. no they aren't asking me to send money anywhere. I don't need to contact anyone at all...just cash the check. It doesn't even say I have to deposit it...just cash.
Telemarketing calls at work? Every once in a while at work, a telemarketing call makes it to my extension. There's a 5 second delay before the person on the other end picks up. I know it's their computer machine relaying info back to the telemarketer that the line their calling is either a live person, automated voice mail system or an answering machine. Now I just hang up when I get these types of calls. My question is, have any of you experienced when you did wait for the telemarketer to answer, that they usually repeat "hello" at least three times in an annoyed tone? As if they weren't sure they had someone on the other end, even though you already said hello twice or more yourself. These telemarketers must be aware of how their own computer system works. So why is it that I'm sensing bad attitude vibes on the part of the telemarketer? Is this part of their marketing scheme to get a consumer into an apologetic frame of mind and compel them to be more receptive to the sales pitch? On more than one occasion when I would answer these calls instead of immediately hanging up, the telemarketer would repeat "hello" at the same time I'm announcing you have reached my extension and how can I help you. This is another reason I believe telemarketers are creating a situation where it's implied you have a bad extension line and they have been on the receiving end of inaudible dialogue, or that you have kept them waiting. It's like they're implying you have been rude and you need to make up for it! This happened too many times in the past for it to be a frustrated telemarketer coping an attitude because they can't reach their sales quota. It must be a new standard procedure that some of these telemarketing companies are using.
I have been receiving hang-up calls from 204-475-5341 from time to time for more than a year. Is it a scam? I suspect these calls are from an automated system designed to get people to use a fee based reverse phone number (look-up) service. Most people don't know you can do this for free at many phone company directory sites. Here is what I do, and a suggestion for later. After the first hang-up call comes in I make mental note of the phone number. Then next time that number calls, I simply let it go to voice mail. That usually stops the calls for a month or more. A friend came up with a very neat solution. He recorded the tones you get when you call a disconnected number and put them into the beginning of his voice mail - followed by an announcement "This number does not accept telemarketing calls. Please put this number on your do not call list." - and then he adds the tones again and his regular message. The tones trigger automated dialers to remove the number as not working. Telemarketers go away, and friends still leave messages.
Is it Legal????? I keep getting call from an automated caller to my Cell Phone. Is it legal for an automated voice to contact you regarding telemarketing?
how do you stop this...? i know how you stop those telemarketing calls, but how do you stop those automated from a machine. ex. "this is not a solicitaition call" . i get at least two everyday and the person they are looking for don't even live here. how do i stop these kind of calls? i don't think the "do not call registry" works for this.
Who has better telephone service agents: The United States or India - when it comes to servicing US customers? If you live in the U.S. and have ever been surprised to hear that your call to the customer service area of a company based in the U.S., has been re-routed to India, you are just beginning to appreciate the wonderful new world of "outsourcing" of thousands of telemarketing jobs in the U.S. to other countries. Answering the customer service line is not necessarily a highly paid job, but some companies train and recruit their people better than others. Have you recently had an experience where you called for a basic service question and had to deal with one or more of the following: 1) Automated Voice Response Units ("the computer") who takes you through endless options that don't apply to you and make it almost impossible to punch through to a live human being; 2) Being put on hold for seemingly interminable amounts of time; 3) Being transferred all over the place, having to tell your story or request new again each time, only to be told it's not their department; (continued below 4) Always the rookie employee who doesn't know how to do precisely the thing you are calling about and tells you to call back when their manager comes in; 5) A foreign voice with an accent so thick you can hardly understand them; 6) A U.S. voice with so much street slang and heavy regional accent or diction they might as well be speaking another language; 7) A voice at the other end so apathetic, you can tell they hate their job and can't wait for you to end what they think is a silly or stupid call, just to give them a hard time at least in their own mind; 8) Just general, total incompetence across the board from someone who can't understand your question or issue or if they do, they have no idea how to solve it so they have to pass you to someone else. As for the Customer Service Phone help in the U.S. versus India, I go back and forth as to who I think does the better job on average. If you have an opinion on this based on experience, tell us your story and note your country.
